Changes after bonaire became part of Netherland

I myself was very happy with the Netherland government coming and making bonaire another province of Netherland. I am not sure what the future holds for Bonaire but from what i have seen are mostly positive changes.
One of the biggest change is that the currency now is dollars so it is alot easier to just use the same currency as back home on the island, you don't have to worry about the conversion rate or anything and so far haven't notice much of a price increase in items which was the biggest fear for people.

Two, the immigration process is a lot different now, we no longer have to deposit 1000 or more (non US citizen; 2000 for Canadians) infact you just pay the fee and things also get done much faster down in the office.

Three, the Roads, i thought i would never see this in bonaire but its happening , they are finally repairing the roads which really needed to be fixed, so it makes driving much better for everyone who is going to be driving.

Four, Security on the island has gotten much better, there are a lot more police office with upgraded police cars, they are strict on the rules and island feels safer than before.

Cant really think of other things these are the mains ones thou, Thank you for reading

  1. how did you handle the traveling ticket issue? I find it foolish for me to buy a roundtrip ticket when am obviously going to school there.

  2. About round trip when i came it wasn't a rule but now the government is very picky since the netherland government took over, so as far as i know there is no way around it, you have to buy a return ticket but after you get on the island you can call the airlines and change the return date, but i know there is still some fee attached to that :/
