I was really worried about finding a place before i got to the island but once you are here its not that hard. I was told this one basic thing and i go by it.

Once you are relaxed, go to the school lounge and there will be someone to help you. i got most of the help from the students but another option is to go across the street and there is a real estate agent which can help you. There are a lot of real estate agents on the island since alot of people buy vacation homes here.

Here is a map of the Island, just so you can familiarize yourself before you get here.

Try to get the place as close to Kralendijk as you can and the school (St. James School of Medicine) is located opposite to the church on Kaya Karona.

Few things to keep in mind when looking at a place:
  • How far is it from school?
    • Most places on the shore are like 10-15 min walk, but places like Carribean Court you need a car for sure otherwise its 25-30 min walk
    • NikiBoko is a area where you will find cheap houses but be careful because I have heard its not a safe area.
  • Safety
    • There have been incidents of students getting robbed so make sure the area is safe.
  • Furnished
    • Alot of places come furnished, so its better to find something which has all the furniture and other things you need.
  • Utilities
    • its better to find a place which has all the utilities + internet included in the rent, saves a lot of time, Electricity wont be included in the utilities.
  • Contract
    • Don't sign any long term contract

Just follow those simple things and you will have no problem finding a place.
